Zhenzhen Tian
ARTIST STATEMENT:
I am Zhenzhen Tian, a contemporary artist from China. My creative practice is rooted in an interdisciplinary and concept-driven approach, with digital technology and digital logic as its core framework. My work explores how data, networks, and digital systems shape human perception, emotional structures, and contemporary environments.
With a background in visual communication and an MA in Digital Direction, I approach painting as one of the interfaces through which digital concepts are materialised. My practice moves across painting, installation, and digital methodologies, allowing ideas to be translated and reconfigured across different media.
I investigate how technological systems quantify emotion, restructure environments, and mediate human experience. I am particularly interested in the digitisation of emotion, the ways data reshapes human environments, and the complex interplay between human experience and technological progression.
By situating my work at the intersection of art, technology, and human perception, I aim to reflect on the ethical and social implications of a data-driven world. My practice seeks to reveal the tension between emotional authenticity and technological mediation, encouraging critical reflection on the opportunities and dilemmas that emerge within contemporary digital culture.
